Marshall Schools Foundation

. . . supporting and enriching the education of our students

The Marshall Schools Foundation believes that children are our community's and our country's most valuable and precious resource.  We know that a truly outstanding school system is one that gives its students special experiences.  The purpose of the Marshall Schools Foundation is to help encourage those special experiences by providing funds to supplement educational programs and activities throughout the Marshall Community School District.

What is the Foundation?

The Marshall Community School District #C-2 Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that operates independently of the district Board of Education.  A volunteer Board of Directors made up of business, education, student, and community leaders governs the Foundation.

Where Do the Funds Come From?

Foundation funds are obtained from individual and corporate tax deductible contributions, as well as from other foundation-sponsored activities.

Who Decides How the Funds Will Be Spent?

All donations to the Foundation are spent with the approval of the Board of Directors.  The use of the funds must be consistent with the Foundation's mission and goals.  The Foundation Board encourages program suggestions and recommendations from district employees, students, alumni, and community members.

What Projects Will Be Funded?

The Foundation Board has determined that funds will be awarded to a variety of programs and activities that "extend and enrich" the education of our students.

How Can I Help?

Contributions can be made for the general support of the work of the Foundation or designated for specific projects.  Contributions can also be made to the Foundation in several ways:

1. You may make a gift of cash, check, securities, or personal property in any amount.

2. You may choose to pledge a certain dollar amount, selecting either monthly or annual payments.

3. You may designate gifts in honor of your loved one, living or deceased.

Can I Make a Charitable Gift Annuity?

Make an enduring contribution to Marshall's youth by making a gift to the Marshall Schools foundation through a Charitable Gift Annuity.  A Charitable Gift Annuity is a financial planning tool to increase your income, decrease your taxes, and pass more assets on to your heirs by avoiding estate taxes.  The annuity allows you to control the destination of your money and support your community schools.

All contributions are tax deductible.  Your gift can make a difference in the way our school serves its students.  Regardless of the size of your donation, be assured that it will be gratefully received and carefully used.  Donations may be sent to Marshall Schools Foundation, P.O. Box 448, Marshall, IL  62441.
