Marshall High School Scholarship Season
Free Money! Yes, it is that time of year again, scholarship season. Scholarships have been available all year, but many will be due within the next 3-4 months. There are scholarships available for everyone. Some students believe that scholarships are only based on academics. Some are, yet many are based on financial need, community service, specific programs (nursing, agriculture, law, etc), being a member of a specific community or organization, and more. Don’t hesitate to complete a scholarship application, you may be awarded free money!
The seniors at Marshall High School are lucky to have such a generous community. Many of our local community organizations offer scholarships to them. To access, there is a “Scholarship Information” button on the Marshall Schools Website www.marshallk12.net on both the Main Page and the MHS Page. To make the most of your efforts, please complete applications from both lists. Apply, apply, apply!

At their regular board meeting on February 10, 2022, the Marshall Schools Board of Education voted to continue forward with the modified CoVid mitigations that allow for Masks Recommended, but not required, that began Monday, February 7. This includes both at school and on buses. There are some exceptions to this that include, but are not limited to, extracurricular events at districts that require masks, students with classes or programs out of district in buildings that require masks, and field trips to venues that have different requirements. The board may modify these practices as deemed necessary.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding.

Marshall Schools Community,
Due to significant legal questions raised by a ruling by Judge Grischow, of the Circuit Court in Sangamon County, who has declared IDPH’s Emergency Rules void, Marshall Schools, beginning Monday, February 7, will modify CoVid mitigations to Masks Recommended, but not required.
As has been the case throughout, this situation is fluid, so any further changes will be shared as they occur.
Thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Kevin Ross

As you are aware, CoVid case numbers amongst students and staff are surging in the New Year as they are throughout the community, state, and country. Cold and Flu are on an uptick as well.
With the current surge, we continue to do our best to stay open on a daily basis and keep activities going for our students and community. With heightened case numbers, please continue to watch your student for symptoms and sickness. When in doubt, keep your student home and if symptoms persist, contact your medical provider. CoVid Testing is still available with our school nurses.
School CoVid #'s are updated daily on the front page of the website.
Updates with Joey O continue on WMMC every Thursday morning between 8:15 and 8:30.
Stay healthy and thanks for your cooperation!

As of today, the IDPH and ISBE announced that schools and health departments will be able to follow the new quarantine and isolation guidance recently issued by the CDC for the general public that would decrease isolation and quarantine in many, but not all cases down to 5 days. We have been in communication with the Clark County Health Department, and they are able to begin this practice today. Clark County Health is reviewing the release dates for our staff and students that are currently in isolation and quarantine to see if any of those qualify to be adjusted.
